Fear of Doing Wrong

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their tesitmony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

– Revelation 12:11

Some of us are so afraid of ‘doing wrong by the Lord’ that we will not take up the banner of Christ and fly it for others to see. We are paralyzed because we are mistakenly relying upon ourselves, rather than the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit, while at the same time forgetting about God’s faithful grace and mercy! We forget that He calls us to action as His ambassadors and will, therefore, equip us for the work.

Of course, we will mess up, but we can rest in the knowledge that He will cover our errors with that said grace and mercy! We are to  learn and continue in sanctification, through the tutelage of the Holy Spirit, so that over time our errors become less and less and our likeness to Christ more and more!

We have been reborn, forever changed, brought from death to life- we Know that nothing but the blood of Jesus can save! Nothing! Nothing! And we Know that second by second people are perishing unwashed by His sacred atoning blood! What will we say to Jesus when we stand before Him in response to this tragedy? That we were afraid of rejection? Afraid of making a mistake so we held our peace? What empty, faithless excuses will we give Him?

Let this not be the case for us! No! Let us go boldly forth in the love of Christ proclaiming the way of salvation that many be saved to the glory of God! Let our faith grow mightily and our love of the Lord shine bright as we proclaim His name in the hedges and highways compelling them to come in!

Jesus willfully laid down His life so that we could have ours- to the full and eternally! Let us truly follow Him in all our ways so that when the time comes for us to stand before Him we will not be ashamed but will hear Him say “well done, good and faithful servant!”
