Take it to Him in Prayer

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut the door, pray to the Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

– Matthew 6:6

There is a mighty thing you can do when you physically can do nothing else! This mighty thing has the power to alter circumstances; the power to heal; the power to save; the power to glorify God! Why do we neglect to do this thing of such power on a consistent basis with a joyful heart?
Perhaps when we are in a bind we humble ourselves enough to engage in this task? At the end of our rope- we may utter a cry for help? We long to see change in a loved one- we want them to be a certain way for our benefit- so again we will look past ourselves and reach out to the One on high?
Prayer! It seems it’s generally used as a last resort! We try everything in our power to fix an issue, to get the result we want, to change others- when all that fails perhaps then we will pray?
Lack of faith! Lack of knowing who it is exactly you are talking to when you pray can lead you to avoid it all together as can your own sin. When we speak to God it’s like holding a mirror upon ourselves- we like our sin so we will avoid talking to Him- we protect our sin in darkness and prayer brings it out into the light!

God created us! God sustains us! God has given us the gift of His Word so that we can know who He is! He wants to be Our Father! He wants to be our ever present help in times of trouble! He wants us to bring Everything to Him in prayer! What a gift! What a blessing! Think about it!!! We can speak directly to the Almighty- the Alpha and Omega- the All Knowing All Powerful Creator- Holy, Just, and Righteous is He! He WANTS to hear from us!
No matter where we are- no matter our physical capabilities- no matter our circumstances- we can take it to Him in prayer! Let us get to know Him- let us obey His Word- let us deny ourselves and call out to Him- let us pray without ceasing to His Glory! Amen!

  1. If prayer is so powerful, why don’t we pray more frequently? We are called to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), but often we only resort to our knees when we have exhausted all our own “power;” treating Jesus more like a vending machine, asking only for something when we are in desperate need……….So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
    Hebrews 4:16 NLT.
