For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth
– 2 Corinthians 13:8
Despite our best efforts we cannot change the truth! We can lie about the truth; we can tell only half of the truth; we can deny the truth but we cannot change it! Oh, how we continue to try throughout all time, however, because it (the truth) is contrary to our very human nature!
The Concise Oxford English Dictionary defines human nature as “the general psychological characteristics, feelings, and behavioral traits of humankind, regarded as shared by all humans.” The Bible, which is the very Word of God, defines human nature, after the fall of man via Adam & Eve, as sinful. All of us share this nature, as David exclaimed in Psalm 51:5, Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. A list of scriptures could be compiled, and many such have been, that prove that we are born with a sin nature.

Countless people have argued against this fact, this truth, but alas they did nothing to change it! After all, today’s scripture verse is clear: you can do nothing against the truth! Now, i would be guilty of only telling half the truth if I stopped writing now and ended this post because all the “small truths” we can know and understand can ONLY be found in one man! To not talk of this one man would be equal to not telling the whole truth!
We can do nothing against Him, the Truth, but only for Him! Nothing! Whenever we try to deny Him, change Him, tell only what we want known of Him to others we are not doing it against Him but rather, against ourselves! Yes! That is the truth!
Don’t want to believe He is the Only Begotten Son of God? That will change nothing about Him; it will cause Him no harm! But for those that choose not to believe it will change their life for the worse both here on earth while they walk in the flesh, their sinful passions bearing fruits for death (Romans 7:5), and in eternity, as they face certain condemnation by being turned into hell.
They have sinned against God, all of us have, it is our very nature. Only the Truth can set us free! We sin against Him which grieves the very heart of God because He knows what that means for us and He knows He has given us a way out through the Truth! All we have to do is turn from our truth (our way of death) to His way (the way of life) and believe on the Unchanging truth of Jesus Christ.
