Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?Mark 8:18
How many times has the Lord provided for all of our needs? How many times has He come through when we were in a pinch and thought there was no way out? The answer is EVERY SINGLE TIME! Oh, perhaps it was not in the way we would have liked or at the time we wanted but, nevertheless, He came through. Even when we credit ourselves or someone else with facilitating our escape or giving us what we needed it was God that granted the ability and it surely was God that made the way for “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps. (Proverbs 16:9) If it worked out for our good, it is because we know that “…all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28) And, again, we should not give credit to ourselves or anyone else for that matter because “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (James 1:17) Of course, it is only right to thank those who come through for us, to show them our sincere gratitude, and to offer our services to them in return for anything that they might need now or in the future. How much more should we do the same for our Creator, our Helper, our Savior, our Lord, Jesus Christ? How much more?
What do we owe Him for the help He has given us: our redemption; our salvation; our way, truth and life? We have seen the work that He so willingly laid down His life in order to do for and in us! We have seen the miracles of provision; restoration; mercy; and grace He has performed in our lives and in those around us. Or having eyes, see we not? Do we not remember? We have heard His Word proclaimed and felt the power of it at work in our lives or heard of how it has supernaturally transformed someone with the faith to believe. Or having ears, hear we not? Do we not remember?
There is no way, it is IMPOSSIBLE, to live into adulthood, late childhood even, without having seen or heard of the merciful workings, powerful miracle performing, and life giving way of the Lord Jesus Christ! Even if His name is not mentioned, credit not given, it was Him- He was there- in the midst- working all things out to the good. Remember?
