Who’s On THE Throne?

And in that day shall ye say,

Praise the Lord, call upon his name,

declare his doings among the people,

make mention that his name is exalted.

– Isaiah 12:4

Who is of greater mercy than the One who has given us sinful, disobedient, prideful people a chance to take hold of salvation resulting in eternal life through the giving of His only Begotten Son’s life on the cross? Yet, you will most often find us blaming Him for our hard lives and selfish mistakes which were brought about by our stubborn refusal to submit, that is surrender, to His perfect will for our lives. We place ourselves in His shoes, upon His Holy, Righteous, throne of justice and love! We count ourselves equal to God yet in our twisted way of thinking we transfer the blame to Him when things go wrong for us!

God is one of the many scapegoats we employee in a failed attempt to assuage ourselves from our fault and guilt.

This way of thinking is anything but just or balanced on our part and, therefore, leads us into a dangerous position before Our Creator as Proverbs 11:1 proves- A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.

Now we are in double, I dare say triple trouble with the Lord because not only is our unbalanced thinking in this regard an abomination to Him but so is our futile efforts of trying to elevate ourselves to His position as is our willful disobedience to His commands!

Sin begets sin to the point we find ourselves so far from the only one that can save us that we start to falsely believe all hope for us is lost! Our consciences are screaming to do right or, worst of all, they have become eerily silent as the hot iron of truth has seared them numb (1 Timothy 4:1-2).

What could ever peel that scar away? What could ever set us onto the right and narrow way? We have to humble ourselves enough; we have to be hungry enough that we make it our mission to find out!

We as humans instinctively know, no matter how far we fall, that there IS a Way out of the mire pit we have found ourselves in. We will talk to ourselves saying things like, “If there is a God He hasn’t helped me?…I’ve prayed but He didn’t answer!…He doesn’t care about my suffering!…God if you are real please save me?”

There, THERE- that last question-the one spoken in humility, that’s the one that gets His attention; that’s when Gods ears perk up and He begins to listen to us! That’s when, often instantly, the Way will nudge us, prod us forward gently- we need only follow. Seeking for the light on the Way as we search for the Truth that can set us free. God promises we will find it if we do as He states in Jeremiah 29:13And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

It’s when little by little or sometimes even instantly our hearts are turned from ourselves towards God that the only way, truth, and life is found. A turning that can only happen when we admit to ourselves that our way leads only to death while His way leads only to life. It’s when we come to believe on the name above all names; the only name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved: Jesus!

And in that day shall ye say,
Praise the Lord, call upon his name,
declare his doings among the people,
make mention that his name is exalted.
 (Isaiah 12:4)
