Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.Isaiah 48:6
The more we walk with God in humble obedience, the more truth He will reveal to us! If we refuse to believe Him or follow Him or surrender to Him on one point, maybe even a seemingly small truth or command, we will stop the revelation of further truth from being uncovered to us.
In Mark 4:25 Jesus confirms this, even going one step further, when He declares, “For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.” In other words, if we understand what is being asked of us and we obey, greater revelation and understanding will be granted us. If, however, we refuse to take heed to the things shown us even the understanding we already possess will be taken away. Because as JESUS teaches us in Luke 16:10, “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.”
I can’t think of anyone who would purposefully keep pouring out their heart to someone who keeps betraying her trust! How absurd would it be for our bosses and superiors at work to keep promoting that one employee who refuses to show up on time or to follow the rules and procedures of their current position? If we can easily see and understand the ridiculousness of these earthly scenarios how is it that we have such difficulty seeing and understanding this on a spiritual level?
God is not asking for our immediate perfection! He is gracious and long suffering towards us, not wishing that any would perish but that all would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Sanctification is a gradual process. It is our job to have faith in what the LORD asks of us- remembering that He is own our side (Psalm 118:6) and will work all things to our good (Romans 8:28)!
Do you believe Him?
If you are having doubts, if your faith is weak and that is keeping you from obedience to His calling and direction for you let today be the day you resolve to change that!
How can you do so?
You do so by Praying without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:27) and increasing your time reading and prayerfully meditating upon the Word of God daily. For Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105). For Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6).
Seek Him until you believe Him! He wants to show you so much more!
