I see you out there searching! You’re out there looking for something more! A nugget of truth! A revelation! A spiritual prize! Some grand discovery of Biblical proportions! You are digging to find it! You feel like you’re just inches away from a breakthrough!
I see you watching someone who appears to have more knowledge and wisdom than you! Someone that has garnered a following because the sensational things he or she says resonates with what so many long to hear! I see you compromise as you buy into unbiblical doctrines in favor of enticing ear-tickling bold and passion-filled emotional decrees!
We all love to be in the know! We all love to be star of the show! If only you can obtain this thing you are looking for then you can prove to yourself and others that you were right all along! That you were ahead of the game!
It’s like when you are the first to hear some spicy gossip and, as a result, you get to to be the first to spread the news- like an amateur news anchor! We’ve all been in that position and can relate to the powerful feeling that comes from knowing that we were the ones who broke the big story of the day!
So, some of us go and repeatedly chase after that high! And in that chase most of us find ourselves running right past the truth! The truth which is the real news! The ONLY news worth spreading- The Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Why do we run past this truth? Why do we insist on looking for more? Why is Jesus and the salvation He provides not enough to satisfy some of us?
So many claim to love Him! They earnestly claim to believe on Him! Just like I’ve seen you do! Yet, your actions, and at many times your words, say otherwise!
When a person has truly surrendered to Jesus Christ and been born again he or she will stop looking for more!
What God so lovingly and mercifully gives us through the sacred canon of scripture found in the 66 books of the Holy Bible will be more than sufficient- more than sufficient- to satisfy our souls and bring us to the knowledge and understanding that leads to true wisdom! Our searching outside of Christ will come to an end as we lay down the weapons of our warfare- weapons that are the ways and means of carnal men!
My friend, Jesus is more than enough! He is the answer to all of your questions; the solution to all of your problems; and The One worth searching for! I pray you stop looking past that truth and find true rest and peace in Him today!
