In a sea of people likened in number to the grains of sand on the shore of the sea; The LORD from up on high reached down His hand and carefully picked out me!
In my messy state of half-hearted belief He pursued me with the unrelenting love of His royal majesty! Oh, how I dodged, and weaved, and tried to hide, for fear if He found me I surely would die!
I thought Him too Holy, and me too unclean, to be worthy of this gift He was calling me to receive! Nothing good within me, and nothing good without, I was convinced I was unworthy to ever be singled out!
How could I be chosen? Just look at the messes I had made! The lives left in chaos due to my many selfish and foolish mistakes!
Yet afar off I still saw Him! His outstretched arm reaching towards me in the way! His anger would be subsided depending upon the choice I chose to make!
Would I deny the Savior and keep running the other way? Or would I surrender to His mercy and accept His saving grace?
His sweet Words whispered freedom as His gentle touch eased my pain! Where else could I find refuge? Everyone else had turned away!
He could see right through me! I melted in His stare! The truth of my condition was uncovered as I was found to be way beyond repair!
But my redeemer did not discard me as I thought He certainly would do! He set out to rebuild me and made me someone new!
Born again in His image! New eyes and ears to hear and see! A new heart placed within me where my dead heart used to be!
What does it take to be chosen? Can you be too lost to ever be found? Nothing is too hard for your Creator! Call on Him! He will never let you down!
