It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.
Lamentations 3:26 KJV
In waiting upon the Lord it does not mean that we are to sit idly by twirling our thumbs! Rather, in the waiting we are to learn what is expected of us and are to begin to put these things into practice.
Are we expected to read the Holy Word daily and meditate upon it as it comes alive to us? Yes! Well then, let us begin to make it a daily practice- create a routine while always guarding against monotony by pairing our reading with fervent ceaseless prayer!
In waiting for the Lord we will also be expected to let go of many things- mentally, spiritually, physically! It will take this daily ceaseless prayer and Bible reading to make this surrender happen smoothly and in the power of God- not our own! For If we surrender in our own power we will- we WILL- fail!
Most importantly, in our waiting for the Lord, we are to humble ourselves- internalizing as we are simultaneously realizing that we are fallen sinners- depraved! Let us truly come to the foot of the cross and be cleansed- be saved!
