Gods Greatest Gifts

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Romans 8:26 KJV

When we have been born again from above there are so many beautiful gifts bestowed on us from God! Gifts above number and measure! His Holy Word tells us in 1 Corinthians 2:9, But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

I cannot fully articulate the beauty, vastness, and awe inspiring goodness of these wonderful gifts! Oh, but I must try to at least give you a glimpse, a small taste of the rich and delightful delicacies He happily gives to His dearly beloved children! He is a dotting Father who scripture tells us withholds no good thing from them that walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11).

His greatest gift to His children is, of course, the life, death, burial, and resurrection of His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ! Jesus, our brother, friend, justifier, redeemer, judge, and Lord! He is everything good rolled into one! It is because of His finished work on the cross at Calvary that we have a way to God, the ONLY way in fact, for He is the cornerstone, the propitiation, and the author and finisher of our faith!

The gift of salvation given us by the grace of the Father through Jesus leads us to the second best blessing of God to His adopted children- the indwelling of His Holy Spirit! Glorious blessing upon blessing is this marvelous manifestation of Gods love towards us! His Spirit always with us now to comfort, guide, direct, and teach us in the narrow way to freedom and everlasting life through Christ Jesus!

We never have to walk alone again! We never have to feel in the dark; outside; castaway; betrayed; or abandoned ever again! Never ever again! Jesus promises us that He will never leave us, nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5)!

We need only to call on Him and His Spirit is there to answer us in that beautiful still small voice that only His children can hear! Are we troubled, perplexed, sorrowful, or at a loss? Shout or whisper His name and He will answer us, and show us great and mighty things, which we know not (Jeremiah 33:3).

As beautifully amazing and comforting as this gift is God goes a step farther giving us even more- a voice when we are voiceless, wordless, completely dismayed, or overwhelmed! A voice to intercede on our behalf to the Father, through the Son, by the Holy Spirit!

When we cannot find the words He will speak for us! When we intercede from a heart set on Gods will He will hear and direct our prayer in accord to that perfect Holy will from above! What a relief to our hearts, minds, and souls to know that Our Father in heaven has made a way for our prayers to be effective and heard! Another burden lifted from us as we are set free by Jesus Christ!

Who would not want and cherish such a beautiful gift as this? A gift that not only helps us but, even more importantly, can be utilized to serve and help others! How many times, often in a single day, do we encounter people in need of prayer? Our spirit senses this need and our discernment points to it, and yet, we do not know exactly how we should approach God regarding them!

We find ourselves fumbling around for the right words, trying to ascertain exactly what would be best to ask for on their behalf. We often feel unqualified and, as a result, ineffective in our intercessions but we do not have to feel that way anymore! The important thing is that we have brought them into the throne room of God through prayer! The Holy Spirit will take care of the rest (Romans 8:26)!

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (James 5:16)
